Case Study - Area of 32.000 km2

One of the projects we have worked on was in a mature field in eastern Siberia, licensed to our client Rosneft. The whole field has 32,000 km2, adjacent to a production field which was divided into six blocks. One of them, known as Preobrazhnensky, covered 5402 km2. The data acquistion involved 90 operators and it lasted 75 days.

Prior to the Helium survey, geochemical and seismic surveys had been made and had predicted lithologic traps. However, until 2006 only 13 dry wells had been drilled.

The Helium survey was able to identify traps with an area of 436 km2, covering the reservoir known as Ust-Kutsk. AGI recommended several drilling spots, such as the well number 4. In test phase, this well has attained flow rates of up to 25 m3 / day, without water. Furthermore, the whole area has been estimated to contain a reserve of approximately 1 billion barrels of oil.
